The New Year gives Graphitti Sign & Graphic Studio cause to celebrate more than just a new calendar year. The New Year also marks our 1 year anniversary of opening our doors for business! It’s been a hectic but exciting year for us. Let’s briefly recap some of the metrics as well as notable signage/graphics projects and events from our first year in business.

Graphitti Sign & Graphic Studio applies The Triple Bottom Line approach to measure success. Triple Bottom line considers three dimensions of operating performance. Social; Environmental; Financial; aka the “Three P’s”: People; Planet; Profit. These metrics provide better measure of “success” than profit alone. Achieving profit cannot be defined as “success” if it comes at the expense of others in terms of social and environmental costs.
People: We have worked hard to have a positive impact and to be actively engaged in our community in Williamson County and in the Metro Nashville area. We proudly support both the Waves organization and the Battle of Franklin Trust, providing free signage for several events for both organizations, and by volunteering with Waves fundraising events. We have provided signage packages to Renewal House and to the Ronald McDonald House of Nashville at discounts. Our owner actively serves Williamson Inc. (Williamson County Chamber of Commerce) as an Ambassador. He serves as a New Member Advisor with the Nashville Chamber of Commerce. He is on the board at the Nashville American Marketing Association (NAMA), and served on the board of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) for the past 2 years.
We’ve hosted five SoFar Sounds concerts in 2016. The SoFar shows have been a lot of fun, and we owe a big thank you to SoFar. Not sure how SoFar does it….but they bring some unbelievable talent. Our sign & graphic studio has been blessed with performances from recording artists such as: Jake Jones; The Cains; Adam Stockdale; Anna Pancaldi; Forrest O’Connor (O’Connor Family Band) with Brian Macdonald (Judah and the Lion); Liza Lavolta; Calliope Musical; Mike Mineo; James Riley; Zuni Mountain Boys; Bryde: James Riley and more.
We’ve provided local employment. Our beloved lead Graphic Designer/Production person, Clif Crimm, retired in October and part time contract employee Stephen Gwaltney moved to full time employment filling the role vacated by Clif. We’ve worked with numerous subcontractors helping with installs and specialty machine work.
Planet: Our founder/owner is LEED AP and ENV SP accredited and holds a Masters Science in Sustainability from Lipscomb University. We are committed to minimizing our environmental impact. We have printed only with environmentally friendly latex inks. We recycle our print consumables through HP. Twice a month we take a pickup truck load of cardboard and paper to one of the Williamson County recycle centers. We have worked hard promoting use of environmentally friendly materials such as Envision 100% recycled banner material made from recycled water bottles.
Profit: We finish 2016 in the black! We are reinvesting that in Graphitti Sign & Graphic Studio with the purchase of a flatbed UV printer. This will greatly increase our capabilities and service to our customers. This piece will also make us more cost competitive for our customers on many products.
All in all…..we think our first year has been a success and we want to thank our customers, vendors, subcontractors and employees. We hope to see you again in 2017….or to see you for the first time in 2017!
