Spring Hills’ population is projected to double over the next two decades. Regionally, over the next 20 years, Middle Tennessee’s 10-county region will absorb 1 million new residents. That’s twice the growth rate of the rest of the nation.
The population growth is being driven in part by business investments in the area, which are in turn driving more development. For example, a 50,000 square foot Holiday Inn Express hotel project began with an official groundbreaking ceremony recently. The four-story, concrete building is scheduled to open in the fall of 2017.
There are plans to convert 103 acres on Highway 31 into a new town square for Spring Hill. The $155 million mixed-use city center will generate a lot of need for a sign shop to serve Spring Hill. We are gearing up to serve those needs.
General Motors has invested more than $2 billion since 2010 into the former Saturn facility in Spring Hill. GM is once again expanding its Spring Hill manufacturing plant. In April, GM announced plans to invest $788.7 million in the Maury County facility in an expansion expected to create nearly 800 new jobs. This announcement comes on the heels of a nearly $150 million investment the company announced in February to build V8 engines.
